HOC strives to produce the best quality cannabis with the least amount of resources and energy
Sustainability
House of Cultivar employs a multifaceted approach to manage and mitigate potential environmental impacts, beginning with the conscientious design of the facility, workflow, and operational processes. This mentality is carried through the implementation and continuous-process-improvement of all standard operating procedures impacting cultivation, processing, waste product, odors, and general environmental impact.
Given that sustainability and efficiency are key elements in HOC's mission, continually reducing the environmental impact of the company's cultivation and manufacturing operations is a top priority. High efficiency lighting and water conserving systems and practices are used throughout the facility as much as is reasonably possible to reduce the environmental impact of the building.
From an operational interior perspective, the building has been designed to incorporate strategic flow and material transfer. If an employee needs to take extra steps or travel additional distances to perform a task, that wasted energy is compounded on a day-to-day and year-to-year basis and can equate to a large waste in not only time but extra energy/resources used by the operations. Smooth flow from area to area, and proper layout design, ensures that waste is eliminated.
In addition, the new construction materials used in the tenant improvements mostly all are locally sourced within a 500 mile radius of the facility and certified as low/no VOC content. Sustainable alternatives to conventional materials were used when available (ie. Use of recycled jean fabric insulation replaced traditional fiber-glass insulation).
